Olivia Munn’s Star Wars Fan Film Contest

Sultry goddess to the geeks, Olivia Munn, has called out for a little help from the Star Wars community. Atom.com has launched Operation Olivia, where Star Wars fans can submit concepts for short Star Wars fan films to the G4 TV hostess and Playboy cover girl. Munn will star in the project that is selected, and the winner will receive a $5,000 budget from Atom.com
Munn became an icon to the Star Wars community when she appeared at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles dressed in the famous Slave Leia outfit (a.k.a. Princess Leia in the gold bikini from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi). This year at Comic-Con, she hosted the Star Wars panel, which was broadcast on G4, and she also appeared at a panel later in the evening where she spoke about her deep rooted love of the galaxy far, far away.
All who are interested in submitting a pitch video should head over to Atom’s Operation Olivia site and be sure to follow all instructions and read the official rules.
Star Wars Galaxy 4 Artist Return Sketch Card Hits Ebay

Casual fans may not be aware, but when Topps releases a set of Star Wars trading cards that includes original artist sketch cards, each participating artist is allowed to select a few of their sketches as artist return cards. From there, they are free to do what they wish with them. Some artists decide to keep their return cards as personal mementos, but others take some extra time to create finished pieces of art from their cards and offer them to the public.
When these artist return cards are offered to the public, usually via sketch card message boards or ebay, the competition to acquire them is often quite intense. After all, these cards are viewed by collectors as finished pieces of art, merely on a smaller canvas of sorts. Prices can be quote steep, but as the old saying goes… you get what you pay for.
Currently, noted artist Jerry Vanderstelt has posted one of his Star Wars Galaxy 4 artist return cards on ebay. It depicts Padme Amidala in a nightgown as seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Bidding on this stunning piece begins at $700. If you’re interested… good luck and happy bidding!
